- A foster guardian has the responsibilities of caring for and loving a Yorkie.
- Foster guardians must to live within 50 miles from us.
- A foster guardian agrees to feed a good quality food and supplements that we recommend.
- A foster guardian is required to keep the dogs current on rabies, and heartworm as recommended by their vet. A guardian agrees that no other vaccinations are given during the foster guardianship (NO annual "boosters"); and absolutely no vaccines - including rabies - are given while a dog is in season or pregnant.
- If at any time something changes in a foster guardian home and they are no longer able to keep a dog, we will take the dog back at any time.
- Foster guardians are required to let us know when a female comes in season (even if we do not plan on breeding). She comes here, gets bred and then goes home again for approximately 8 weeks. She then comes back 7-10 days before her due date, and stays to whelp and raise the puppies. When she weans the pups she goes back to the Guardian home.
- The most we breed a foster guardian dog is two or three litters.
When you choose to adopt a puppy, we ask that you please fill out an adoption application questionnaire .
If, for any reason (at any time), you cannot keep the puppy you adopted, then we will take the dog back. None of our dogs are to ever be in a rescue/shelter. All new puppy owners sign an agreement that if their dog ever needs a new home, they come back to us.
Puppies are microchipped, dewormed, and have their shots before being adopted. AKC registration papers are completed when you pick up your puppy. You get to choose the name and we complete papers and microchip registration for you and cover the cost.
Yorkies are true terriers so training can sometimes be more difficult. We encourage puppy owners to enroll in puppy obedience/socialization classes to get off to a great start. Any puppy that earns their AKC S.T.A.R Puppy is rewarded! We also provide our puppy owners the option of the AKC Protection Plan which gives owners lifetime access to AKC dog trainers (we cover the cost). This is the perfect package to protect your new pup as they adjust into your family!
